A roof inspection from Home Source costs nothing. Most companies in this area charge between $99 and $199 for the same visit.
We look from the air and from the roof itself. The second part is what matters. After a February windstorm, one Williamsport homeowner went out to collect the shingles that had blown into her yard and wrote afterward that what looked fine from the ground was actually in pretty bad shape up close.
That gap is the entire reason to have someone climb up there.
Shingles for lifting, cracking, granule loss and impact bruising. Flashing at every penetration, which is where most leaks actually start. Valleys, ridge and vents. Gutters and downspouts, since a drainage problem often shows up as a shingle problem. Decking condition where it's visible, and the attic when access allows.
Storm damage gets photographed as we go. That documentation is what an insurance adjuster needs, and it's what a homeowner needs if they end up disputing a denial.
Carriers deny claims. Sometimes they're right.
One customer's insurer told him there was no damage to his roof. Home Source documented it, communicated directly with the carrier, and the claim was reopened. His full roof and his shed roof were both approved. In his words, without them he would have been stuck paying out of pocket for something that should have been covered.
We can't promise your claim gets approved. Nobody honest can. What we can do is make sure the damage is documented properly the first time, because a claim built on a phone call and a guess is the one that gets denied.
This is the part most homeowners don't expect.
The photos and findings come to you through a project timeline link, and we walk you through them in person before we leave. It's yours to keep whether you hire us or not — take it to another contractor for a second opinion, send it to your insurer, or file it away until the roof actually needs something.
An inspection you can't take with you isn't an inspection. It's a sales call.
Fair question, and worth asking any roofer.
What we'd point to is what our customers describe afterward. Owners Brandon and Chris show up on job sites personally, which comes up unprompted in five separate Google reviews. One customer found cedar shakes hidden under an existing metal roof mid-project, a genuine surprise for both sides, and wrote that he was over a barrel at that point but they did not take advantage of that.
If the roof has ten good years left, that's a useful thing to know.
After the February 7 windstorm, that Williamsport homeowner had an assessment on February 11 and a tarp on the roof February 12, ahead of several days of heavy rain. Another customer went from first visit to a finished roof in under three weeks. A gutter estimate came back within the hour.
Storm weeks are busier than normal weeks. That's true of every roofer in the tri-state.
Home Source is family owned and veteran owned, run by brothers Brandon and Chris Moye out of Williamsport.
We inspect roofs in Hagerstown, Williamsport, Frederick, Halfway, Clear Spring, Smithsburg, Boonsboro, Middletown, Myersville, Thurmont, Martinsburg, Berkeley Springs, Falling Waters, Chambersburg and Greencastle.
Nothing. There's no charge for the inspection and no obligation afterward.
If the inspection turns up work worth doing, we'll give you a written estimate and you can take it wherever you want. Typical roof replacement in this area runs $12,000 to $18,000 for an average home, and repairs start lower. Those are 2026 ranges for our service area, not a quote — jobs in Montgomery County and Northern Virginia typically run 5 to 10% higher. Every roof is different, and the only way to know your number is to have someone look at it.

On February 7, 2026, a severe windstorm pulled several shingles off my roof. When I went out the next day to collect some of the fallen pieces, I was surprised to see how deteriorated they were—what looked fine from the ground was actually in pretty bad shape up close. A trusted friend recommended Home Source Roofing out of Williamsport, Maryland, and I’m glad they did. Michele from Home Source came out on February 11 to assess the damage using both a drone and a ground inspection. She recommended immediate tarping due to incoming rain, and it was completed the very next day—just in time, because we had several days of heavy rain right after. I also had Home Source look at a gutter and downspout issue that was contributing to shingle problems. They recommended a solution, and I chose to have that work done in addition to the roof replacement. Shortly after, I received a very reasonable quote with two package options using GAF Timberline HDZ shingles in Hunter Green. I chose the Gold package, which offered additional protection with upgraded underlayment and enhanced vent covers. Both options featured 50-year shingles, which gave me great peace of mind. On March 18, the crew arrived right on time and got straight to work. The entire process was incredibly organized and efficient. They started by laying protective tarps over my porches and yard, then moved seamlessly through removing the old shingles, making necessary repairs, and installing the new roof. The onsite lead, Christian, kept everything running smoothly and maintained great communication throughout the project. The owner, Brian, also personally stopped by on the day of installation to ensure everything was proceeding as planned, which I really appreciated. In addition, Rene from Home Source stopped by to review and coordinate the upcoming gutter and downspout work, working directly with Superior Seamless Gutters LLC to ensure everything was aligned. At one point during the tear-off, my porch was completely covered in old shingles—it looked a little wild—but by the time they finished, everything was spotless. You would never know they had been there. I’ve included before-and-after photos to show the condition of the old shingles and the quality of the finished roof. Overall, this was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The professionalism, responsiveness, attention to detail, and cleanup exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Home Source Roofing to anyone in need of roofing services!
We had a wonderful experience with HomeSource Roofing for our new roof and gutters. From the very first phone call, they were quick to respond and made it easy to set up an appointment with their sales representative. Communication throughout the entire process was excellent—they kept us informed, answered our questions promptly, and were very organized. Anytime I had a question, it was answered quickly and efficiently, which gave us a lot of confidence in the process. The pricing was very fair, and we feel we received a great value for the quality of work provided. On top of that, their crew did a fantastic job cleaning up our property once the work was finished, leaving everything neat and tidy. Overall, HomeSource Roofing was professional, efficient, and easy to work with. We are very pleased with the results and highly recommend them!

They clearly explained everything, answered all of our questions, and made sure we were comfortable with the plan before getting started.
